AMAZON TUBE MAP

Project type: Mobile / Smartwatch app
My role: Concept
Agency: Self initiated project
Credits: Concept developed with Adam Varga
Year: 2015

A lot of people spend their Tube journey reading. That behaviour represents a potentially huge amount of data for platforms like Amazon, service providers like TFL and to the readers themselves. What's the Northern Line best seller? What's the "most horror" journey in the London Underground? What's my usual reading journey?

Amazon Tube App is a concept I have developed with Adam Varga, former colleague at Uber, during lunchtime brainstormings and quick chats by the coffee machine. The result is a roughly defined multi-platform product that could potentially be developed into something more serious in the future.

THE IDEA

Amazon will provide a multi-device app where users can easily track their reading journeys. An Amazon Tube Map campaign will also be developed to promote the commuters reading culture.

VISUALIZE DATA

Different sets of data will be collected by the app and generate different types of experiences and campaings. There will be best seller charts by Zone and recommendations written by commuters. The Tube map becomes the canvas of an infinite combination of infographics and interesting reading facts.

A Halloween campaign could highlight the Tube journeys where most horror books have been read in a defined period of time.
